CRICKET EVENTS

Primary Schools Competitions 2006

Listed are details and an entry form for the various Primary Schools competitions in 2006. Dates of the two outdoor Kwik Cricket competitions may change slightly, as some of our Focus Cricket Clubs will be running the tournaments for us as part of their community responsibility. Any changes will be posted as soon as known.

Kwik Cricket (sponsored by OCS) – 18 borough heats (Kingston Tuesday 23^rd May 3pm) with the winners invited to finals day at The Brit Oval on 12^th July.

Girls Kwik Cricket – 10 qualifying heats (Kingston Tuesday 27^th June 1pm) with winners invited to finals day at The Brit Oval on 13^th July.

Year 5 Incrediball – 7-a-side, 10-over played in a knockout format drawn from the schools entered. Pads and gloves to be worn, but soft incrediball to be used, so no helmets required.

Connellan Trophy – schools split into geographical groups upon entry playing 7-a-side, 10-over games with a hard ball. Group winners invited to finals day at The Brit Oval on Saturday 15^th July.

NEW SAFETY GUIDANCE

All teachers playing cricket with a hard ball need to be aware of the new safety requirements recently issued by the England & Wales Cricket Board.

All children under 18 need to wear a cricket helmet when batting and fielding behind the stumps.
