Below are the groups and lane numbers allocated to each school. On arrival, report to the reception desk to register and receive your complimentary programme. You will be asked how many boy and girl swimmers in your group and how many of these are reserves. You will also be able to enter the adults' race! You will be shown your school area on a plan - schools are seated in group and lane order around the pool. The first race usually starts atound 9:30. The pool is in public use beforehand and due to the time it takes to drag them out, arrange seating and instal equipment, you may have to endure a short wait before being allowed into the pool area. This is for safety reasons, so please wait patiently as we will be as quick as possible - we know the children are keen to start. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend - they can purchase a souvenir programme with the swimmers' names included for £1, which helps to defray costs. The considerable charge for hiring the pool is born by the KPSSA. Don't forget that there is an adults' race, so don't be shy - bring your cozzies or Speedos to be able to take part and win valuable* prizes! *actually, not that valuable really but still worth winning Please remember that the stewards are volunteers giving their own time to make the Swimfest a success and treat them with respect - this is a fun event, so please enjoy it! Each school will compete in 8 scoring races: Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Relay for each gender.
A child can compete in ONE style race and MAY ALSO swim in the relay: this means your team will consist of a minimum of 4 boys and 4 girls and a maximum of 7 boys and 7 girls, although you may bring any number of reserves who will be offered a swim in a non-scoring race, ensuring every child participates. There is also 10 mins or so (time permitting) open pool time at the end of the event for a general splash-about.

RULES
As with all KPSSA events, the overriding object is to encourage primary school children's enjoyment of sport; in exceptional circumstances any rules may be moderated to fulfil this aim.
Competitiveness plays a part, but not at the expense of fun, fairness or participation.

1. The referee's decision is final and must be immediately respected
2. There are four classes: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and Relay
3. All competant KS2 pupils are eligible
4. A swimmer may enter one individual style and/or the relay
5. Boys and girls compete separately in each class
6. Individual races are over one length of 25 metres
7. Relays are of four swimmers, each swimming one length
8. All races start from the deeper south side of the pool
9. The lanes are numbered from the entrance - Lane 1 is nearest to the spectators
10. Swimmers may dive in or start in the pool, except during the relay changeover on the shallow north side, where diving is not permitted and swimmers wait in the water
11. Schools are grouped according to size, based on NOR figures published by the Borough
12. Points: Style races - First 1 pt, Second 2 pts, Third 3 pts and so on. Relay races score double points
13. The winning team of each group will have the lowest points
14. If at the end of competition teams have equal points, their relative position in the relay will decide the winner unless time permits a swim-off
15. Additional events not on the main schedule are for fun only and do not score points
16. Swimmers must remain in the water at the end of each individual race until directed by the lane judges
17. Spectators are requested to remain quiet for the start of each race
18. Any adult who causes nuisance may be pushed in the pool by the organiser
